The purpose of the Serpentine Academy is to serve as:
- An institution for the propagation of the seven (7) traditional liberal arts, as they apply to Initation.
- A forum wherein the various methodologies and diverse approaches to Initiation are examined.
Note: Academy membership is open to any individual or organization aligned with this charter.
We define ourselves as a Temple as well as a School of Initiation and a Religious Order.
As such, we have an applied methodology, a philosophical approach, and a religious philosophy.
- The methodology we employ in our pursuit of Knowledge, Truth, and Wisdom is the Trivium coupled to the Socratic method of inquiry.
- The philosophical approach we base our religious practices upon is metaphysical realism. Our presupposition is that the world is as it is independent of how humans take it to be.
